California dreaming 2
I am... overwhelmed.
SF is beautiful.
Right now I'm sitting in an internet cafe with a view over a bay full of moored yachts. The sun is shining and the sky is pastel blue, and I'm sucking on a very expensive ice-blended mocha drink and paying exorbitant rates for internet, but dammit it's worth it.
I so wish I was living here.
This morning was spent making the acquaintence of an american bloke from Oakland and his supposedly thai? girlfriend (I was too tactful to break it to him that his girlfriend with the japanese-sounding name was actually malaysian chinese from her accent and features, and err taking him for a ride. although I'm sure it's a very exciting ride. cough.), playing lamp-post and piggybacking on his past experience and climbing aboard the cable car (took me ten minutes to figure out why it's called a cable car - the cables run underground see... how ingenious) and poking through Alcatraz (wah) and generally falling in love with SF. I filled my digital camera (all of 24 frames) pretty quickly and now I'm just... cruising and committing it all to memory. the view from the tops of those hills...
I simply don't have the words for how amazing this place is. It even has touches of London to it (so, so, so much to see and do) but it's... sorta a sanitized, beautiful, colourful version of London, where the people are actually happy.
Tomorrow hopefully will either be wine country or yosemite park.
Right now, i have some chocolate to track down...
Sigh. I am so, so jealous of SF-iscans.
