Weekend # 142819

Another weekend drifts lazily by.

I watched Shrek 2 twice this weekend. And it was better the second time. That cat!!

en garrrde!

Laughs.

Church today was a thanksgiving mass for two newly ordained priests (yesterday). I didn't have a clue, till I stepped in the doors. Or rather, didn't step in the doors. What's this, the church is overflowing... what gives?

It was strangely poignant, strange, because it was reminiscent of easter mass, and it was a sung mass complete with spanish-sounding (but I suspect, actually Filipino) guitarist/singer.

I also discovered that the priest, a venerable old man in coke bottle glasses, who sways disconcertingly as he preaches (I'm guessing he has mild parkinson's. gut feeling.) has the most beautiful singing voice.

In other news, I've heard through the grapevine that some nutter is writing a rather un-PC story about Singaland.

We'll just have to see how it turns out, won't we?

Things I forgot to mention :

1) I broke the 12 minute 2.4km mark on the treadmill!
okay fine. so it doesn't sound like a big deal, certainly not for an ex national fencer hey.

Append the word "GERIATRIC" (yes. geriatric. I choose to use it this time. consciously. so there.) in front and all ist klar.

Creaking muscles, straining lungs, pounding heart. Bugger it, somewhere along the way I've grown old!

Today, I'm going to shave it down to 11.30
And tomorrow, who knows.

If my posts cease abruptly, um. We all know why.

2) Years of being a couch potato have taken their toll.

Once upon a time ago, I could leg-press 200kg.
Now I can leg-press 70 kg :|
Atrophy is such a cruel thing.

3) Did anyone else stop to wonder what's with the fairy godmother and all those bubbles, in Shrek 2? Hint : her last spell turns the king back into his original form, and she vanishes in a cloud of bubbles.
