Holier than Thou?
Reading a... friend of a friend(?)'s comment about a (now) rather flayed horse, I'm reminded of a question I was asked during my med school interviews for an Unnamed University :
(by the senior clinical tutor)
"So why do you want to be a doctor, aside from the saving people and being nice to people nobility crap?"
Funny. Half the population, the half that comes into A&E takes offence when you're not "caring" and "noble" enough, when your goody-one-shoe approach to life simply isn't good enough, because you're a doctor innit, you're SUPPOSED to heal us, and want to. It's your job dammit.
The other half it seems just doesn't condone it in anybody at all. Automatic disqualification from the human race : "noble"? you must be faking it. (attach generic swear word)
Here the word noble is of course being abused. Um results of that silly quiz aside, I wasn't, and do not act for the sake of. I just reacted. But again, deep breath - I am not cut out for this crap. The words were not for myself - or for yourselves - but for him.
I have to marvel at how it is so few can actually distill the true meaning from them. How the second half - and the true intention - of it seems to have been penned on the internet in invisible ink.
I'm also left wondering - this aversion to "nobility" : is it cross gender? Would it have made a difference if I'd been female? Because I knew someone who wrote and thought much like myself once... but people loved her for it. Ponder.
Ah well. Whatever. The puke bucket's over there, help yourself to it. These words... on this page... are for me. And once in a while, for You.

Okay. Now I'm really beginning to wonder : maybe there are only two results for that quiz. Frown. Who dreamt it up anyhow? And why do I keep feeling like a cracker?
