Fuzzy Logic

Their eyes met for an instant as he transferred his gaze from speaker to speaker, as was his custom. Watching. Observing. A strange sensation, a watcher being watched. He dropped his gaze hurriedly; it seemed almost impolite, somehow, to intrude on another Watcher.

In his ennui (the stay-home-and-be-mother's-comfort-day was taking its toll) he found again that term, "ex-communicated".

He'd only seen it employed once before by someone else a very long time ago, post Holocaust / Apocalypse. Only She'd been using it to describe Him, and what He'd done, to Her.

Later, when he mentioned it to an extremely intelligent and linguistically gifted friend of the Outer Circle, he earned a chuckle. "That's an interesting way to use the word."
He couldn't help but to agree.
